Can you believe it?

For only the second time in school history, the Florida Gators are 12-0 and headed for the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta this weekend to play the Alabama Crimson Tide for the second straight year. What a season it has been. With the Florida Gators recent domination of FSU, things are looking up for the prospects of a totally undefeated season and another BCS National Championship.

Tim Tebow’s performance on Saturday was nothing less than stellar. One more performance like that and he should be a shoo-in for a second Heisman Trophy.

This season has had its ups and downs but through it all, the Florida Gators were able to maintain focus and find a way to win. Urban Meyer has been able to perform a miracle in keeping the team on track and focused on one game at a time. Anything else would have spelled disaster.

This weekend’s test against Alabama will certainly be the toughest the Florida Gators have faced all year. Somehow, through it all, the Gators will find a way to win. Presently, the Las Vegas bookies have the line at 5. Somehow, I think they are going to be surprised to see Florida win by much more.

This will be Tim Tebow’s crowning moment. A chance to win the SEC Championship and go on to the National Championship to be the undisputed National Champions in a perfect season. In reality, this weekend’s game against Alabama really is the National Championship game pitting number one Florida against number two Alabama. That being said, the winner of the SEC will go on to play in the BCS National Championship Game in Pasadena against, most likely, Texas.

The BCS National Championship Game, in all likelihood, will be a complete and utter blowout. Say what you will but it cannot be argued that the SEC is undoubtedly the toughest conference in all of college football. It is completely unlikely that Texas, should they beat Nebraska and go on to play in the BCS National Championship, will have seen anything remotely close to the juggernaut that is the Florida Gators.

Urban Meyer routinely states that there is something very special about this year’s senior class. There is no denying it. They have shattered record after record and despite not having sensational playmakers like Percy Harvin and Louis Murphy, have come together as a team to win each game. Riley Cooper has made some truly unbelievable catches and Jeff Demps is nothing short of remarkable. To see a guy that small be so fast and be able to make play after play and get pummeled by guys who outweigh him by a hundred pounds and get up and shake it off and do it again is truly beyond belief. This year’s Gator team has won because of team work and an insatiable will to win.

It will truly be sad to see this college football season end and with it know that we will never get to see Tim Tebow play for the Florida Gators again. We have been truly watching magic for the last few years. Obviously, my hope for Tim is that he wins the SEC Championship, Heisman Trophy and the BCS National Championshp and gives Florida its first undefeated season.

Without question or reservation, Tim Tebow is the greatest player college football has ever seen and most likely will ever see.
