What is the deal with all of the shoes in and on the side of the road in Atlanta? Invariably, it is always one shoe, very rarely ever two. How did they get there? How do you lose one or both of your shoes while driving down Georgia 400, I-75, I-85 or I-285?

Is it alien abductions?

What is the cause?

Where do they come from?

If you have ever driven on any of the highways in Atlanta, you cannot seem to go more than a few miles on any of them without seeing the errant shoe in or on the side of the road. This is one of those things that deserves its own Discovery Channel documentary. In the 25 years I have been legally driving and the 15 years I was a passenger before that, never once have I ever seen a shoe come flying out of a car or from someone with their foot stuck out of the window. Likewise, I have never seen a bunch of people walking around with only one shoe on.

If you have any insight into this, let me know by leaving a comment below. Inquiring minds wanna know!
